MVRDV Launches CarbonSpace Tool for Early-Stage Carbon Assessment in Architecture

MVRDV, a Dutch architectural and urban design practice, has released CarbonSpace, an online tool in public beta to help architects evaluate embodied carbon emissions from the initial design phase. Developed by MVRDV NEXT in collaboration with Studio AvW, the tool provides rapid parametric estimations using approximate data to compare design options, aiming to address challenges in the construction sector, which contributes significantly to global greenhouse gas emissions. It is available for free in English at carbonspace.earth, with a focus on fostering industry collaboration and informed decision-making without requiring detailed models or paid access.
