Museum Villa Stuck Reopens After Renovation with New Franz von Stuck Painting

Museum Villa Stuck in Munich reopens on May 14, 2026, following the completion of its second-phase technical renovation. The fully refurbished artist's residence and a new cafe will debut in time for the VARIOUS OTHERS art festival. All museum areas are now accessible with a refreshed appearance. To celebrate, the museum presents a diverse exhibition program. Additionally, the foundation Verein zur Förderung der Stiftung Villa Stuck e. V. has donated a previously unknown painting by Franz von Stuck, Portrait of a Lady à la Japonaise, from the collection of his student Max Ackermann. The work returns to its place of origin, closing a collection gap and offering new insights into Stuck's Symbolist world.
