Museum of Modern Art in Warsaw opens two global solidarity exhibitions

On June 26, the Museum of Modern Art in Warsaw opens two concurrent exhibitions: 'In the Very Bowels of Changes: Surrealism and Antifascism' and 'Ways of the Black Spread Over the White Land.' The first reexamines Surrealism's historical and ongoing commitment to liberty, equality, and anti-colonial struggle, tracing its opposition to fascism from the 1920s through the Spanish Civil War and World War II, when the Nazis denounced it as 'degenerate.' The second explores Poland's engagement with Blackness and Sub-Saharan Africa during the Polish People's Republic era. Together, the exhibitions present a multicultural journey across continents, united by a common cause of opposing violence and fostering international solidarity.
