Museum of Contemporary Art Tokyo Announces Major Tada Minami Retrospective

The Museum of Contemporary Art Tokyo will present a comprehensive retrospective of abstract artist Tada Minami (1924-2014) titled 'Tada Minami: Still, Shimmering Light,' opening on August 29. The exhibition will feature more than 70 works, including paintings, sculptures, lighting installations, architectural pieces, and photographs. Minami's career spanned nearly seven decades, during which she created large-scale public artworks for urban settings using materials like stainless steel, glass, and acrylic. Her reflective sculptures, which often integrate environmental elements like light, are considered emblematic of Japan's postwar modernization. The retrospective highlights her enduring influence on contemporary art a decade after her death.
