Museum Naturalist Documents Bluebird Nest Box Activity for Spring Season

Ranger Greg, a naturalist at the Museum of Life and Science, has begun documenting bluebird nest box observations for the spring season. The initial inspection of six nest boxes revealed minimal activity, with only one box containing a completed nest. This nest is located on the east side of the Parking Deck, an area typically active first. Other boxes at Cow Pasture, Explore the Wild, and the service road to Into the Mist remain empty or contain only non-nesting materials. The naturalist notes that recent warm temperatures may be influencing activity, but expects cooler conditions to potentially slow further nesting progress.
