Musée Maillol: Third Lorquin Generation Takes Back Control, Plans 2027 Shows
After a fifteen-year period of outsourced management, Pierre and Alexandre Lorquin, the grandsons of Dina Vierny, are regaining control of the Musée Maillol in Paris. A significant renovation is underway, as visitors will soon be able to access the previously inaccessible courtyard of the Fontaine des Quatre-Saisons. Following Vierny's passing in 2009, her sons handed over programming responsibilities to Patrizia Nitti, who went bankrupt in 2015. Subsequent management by Culturespaces and Tempora shifted the museum's focus. The Lorquins plan to return to foundational themes, with their inaugural exhibition scheduled for 13 January 2027, and will rename the museum Fondation Dina Vierny. They aim to improve activity synergy and tackle space constraints, with potential for future expansion. The brothers took control of Galerie Dina Vierny in 2021 and launched a second location in 2025.
