Muscarelle Museum Presents 'America's Tapestry' for U.S. 250th Anniversary

Opening June 19 at the Muscarelle Museum of Art at William & Mary, 'America's Tapestry' commemorates the nation's 250th anniversary through thirteen hand-embroidered panels representing each original colony. These works, collaboratively stitched by artisans from New Hampshire to Georgia, highlight often-overlooked Revolutionary-era stories from individual states. The exhibition runs through September 6, offering a deeper exploration of specific experiences during the American Revolution. According to museum director David Brashear, the anniversary provides an opportunity to move beyond familiar historical narratives.
