exhibition · 2026-04-16

On June 6, MUSAC, the Museo de Arte Contemporáneo de Castilla y León, kicks off its summer events with three exhibitions that will be on display until October 18. One of the highlights, 'Lugar del elogio,' focuses on the artist Carlos León and is curated by Fernando Castro Flórez. It features around fifty pieces that illustrate León's artistic journey from surreal gardens to explorations of pictorial surfaces. Born in Ceuta in 1948, León is celebrated for his use of color and materials. Additionally, Ana Laura Aláez’s 'Refugio e intemperie' revitalizes the sculpture pavilion with a 2008 installation of thirty-two aluminum sheets, delving into themes of heritage and survival. Lastly, the group show 'Casi sistemas,' curated by Álvaro Rodríguez Fominaya, showcases works from thirteen artists, including Ai Weiwei, reflecting on how art can impose order on chaos and create meaning.
