Morgan Stanley Files for Ethereum and Solana ETFs with 0.14% Fees, Lowest in US Market

On June 18, 2026, Morgan Stanley filed updated S-1 registration statements with the SEC for their spot Ethereum and Solana ETFs, introducing the Morgan Stanley Ethereum Trust (MSSE) and Morgan Stanley Solana Trust (MSOL) for trading on NYSE Arca. These ETFs boast an annual sponsor fee of 0.14%, which is the lowest in the US, even better than Grayscale's Mini Ethereum Trust (0.15%) and Franklin Templeton's Solana ETF (0.19%). Bloomberg's ETF expert, Eric Balchunas, highlighted this as the most competitive pricing worldwide for these assets. Each ETF will distribute 95% of staking rewards to investors and 5% to infrastructure partners like Figment Inc. and Coinbase Canada Inc. The filings also mention slashing risks for staked ether. This comes after the April 8, 2026, launch of Morgan Stanley's Bitcoin Trust (MSBT), which achieved $193.6 million in its first month, charging the same fee. Morgan Stanley oversees $9.3 trillion in client assets via 16,000 advisors, and if the SEC gives the green light, MSSE and MSOL will enter the market, with approval timelines varying based on the SEC's review.
