Montreux Jazz Festival's 60th Edition Celebrated with Portrait Book by Anoush Abrar

In celebration of its 60th anniversary, the Montreux jazz festival is releasing 'The Elegance of Time', a book showcasing over 150 portraits by photographer Anoush Abrar. The collection features musicians such as Marc Rebillet (2024), Quincy Jones (2018), Grace Jones (2025), Janelle Monáe (2025), Raye (2024), Seal (2023), Selah Sue (2022), Oxlade (2022), Sam Smith (2022), Chris Maas, Sting, Dominic Miller (2024), Santana (2025), Benson Boone (2025), and James Blake (2025). As the festival's official portraitist, Abrar enjoyed exclusive backstage access, describing the experience as 'stronger than a drug' due to the crowd's energy. The book is sold at the Montreux jazz shop and reflects the connection between the festival's vibrant present and its rich history, rooted in founder Claude Nobs' legacy. In 2024, the main stages relocated to the lake and casino, prompting Abrar to utilize a mobile studio. He observes that the festival creates a 'rift in time', altering the rhythm of life for 16 days.
