Monopol Launches Series on Outsider Art, Starting with Frankfurt's Atelier Goldstein
Monopol is set to introduce a series titled "Outsider Art" in 2025, exploring whether labels like Art Brut improve or hinder visibility. A number of individuals once deemed outsiders have transitioned into institutional roles, now displaying their work in galleries and receiving support from magazines and art fairs. The Outsider Art Fair, which has been taking place in New York since 1993, expanded to Paris in 2013. The 2025 New York fair received acclaim for its accessible mid-market selections and affordable pricing, with a focus on Montrel Beverly's innovative takes on art-historical figures. The series will also continue in Frankfurt am Main, highlighting Atelier Goldstein, established by Christiane Cuticchio and currently led by Sven Fritz and Sophia Edschmid, with artist Franz von Saalfeld featured next.
