MARC STRAUS gallery is presenting Notes from Lagunilla, the first New York solo show by artist Monika Michalko, located at 299 Grand Street. The exhibition runs until April 26. Michalko has spent fifteen years refining a distinct visual style marked by vibrant colors and distorted geometric shapes. Her works blend landscape and still life elements to create enclosed, immersive scenes with plant-like forms and hazy, prismatic skies, offering worlds that feel both complete and subtly disorienting due to skewed perspectives and shifting scales.
