MONA Expands to Bangkok, Tromarama at Times Square, Hoor Al-Qasimi Appointed, THE BRIJ in Delhi

By 2029, Hobart's Museum of Old and New Art (MONA) will unveil MONA Bangkok, a project in partnership with Asset World Corporation (AWC), located along the Chao Phraya river. AWC will manage the museum's operations for 15 years, while MONA will maintain its collections. This venture, spearheaded by DarkLab's CEO Leigh Carmichael, will focus on the concept of 'light.' Additionally, the Indonesian art group Tromarama will present 'Turn On #2' during Times Square's Midnight Moment in 2026, with nightly displays running until July 31. On July 7, Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed Al-Qasimi appointed Hoor Al-Qasimi as the president of the Sharjah Museums Authority. Meanwhile, THE BRIJ, a 130,000-square-meter cultural center in New Delhi, is set to open in 2028, featuring six pavilions.
