MoMA acquires five prints by Ben Wigfall, late SUNY New Paltz Professor
The Museum of Modern Art has recently expanded its permanent collection with the addition of five significant prints by the late Ben Wigfall, who was active from 1930 until his passing in 2017. Hailing from Richmond, Virginia, Wigfall was a renowned artist and an influential teacher at SUNY New Paltz from 1963 through 1991. He also established the Communications Village in Kingston, New York. The newly acquired works include “Tall Man Just Long and Tall” (1971), “Nine Part Black Theme” (1971), “Signs” (1993), “Ever Since” (1973), and “Car Car” (1993), celebrating his profound artistic contribution.
