Moderne Gallery shows rare double-door Nakashima cabinet from 1979

Moderne Gallery is presenting a rare 1979 George Nakashima 'Special Bahut' cabinet. Unlike the standard single-door Bahut, this piece features a double stacked configuration with two sets of doors. The case is American Black Walnut with highly-figured bookmatched doors. Two pull handles are crafted from expressive English Oak Burl. The cabinet sits on an architectonic cross base and displays Nakashima's signature exposed handworked dovetail joinery. Inside, both sections have adjustable open shelves.
