Misan Harriman's Protest Photography Exhibition Becomes Permanent Installation at London Gallery

Photographer Misan Harriman has established a long-term exhibition titled 'The Purpose of Light' at Hope 93 gallery in central London. The installation features black-and-white images documenting protest movements from the past seven years across the UK, US, and South Africa, including demonstrations related to George Floyd's death and Gaza conflicts. Harriman, known for Vogue UK covers and an Oscar-nominated short film, views the work as capturing social solidarity during turbulent periods. Gallery founder Aki Abiola reports strong public response to the earlier temporary version, leading to this permanent display supported by private collectors. The exhibition occupies the gallery's basement with over 100 photographs arranged floor-to-ceiling.
