Mira Dial Physical Device Locks Screens to Boost Focus

Mira Labs has launched a crowdfunding campaign on Indiegogo for the Mira Dial, a physical device designed to lock all user screens to enforce productivity. Priced at $114 (43% off the $199 retail), the dial works with a companion app to block apps, websites, and notifications across multiple devices. Unlike software-based limits, the dial cannot be easily disabled; turning it off requires tedious menu navigation, described as "annoying" by design. Users set timers and rules, and a limited number of monthly emergency exits allow quick access in urgent situations. The device targets photographers, videographers, and creative professionals who struggle with distractions from social media and multiple screens. Mira Labs claims app-based blockers are too easy to bypass, and other physical devices like Brick only work on limited devices. The campaign is expected to ship early next year with no subscription fees. PetaPixel, the reporting publication, has financially backed the campaign at the lowest tier to monitor communications.
