Miniature Marvels at LAM Museum: Under the Magnifying Glass
From June 3 to October 4, 2026, the LAM museum in Lisse will present the exhibition 'Under the Magnifying Glass. Mini. Magical. Masterful,' showcasing miniature creations by Bianca van der Hulst-Sijsenaar. Highlights include a 6 mm net of mouldy mandarins, an 8 mm card machine at a tiny candyfloss stall, and a dining table under 7 cm in height. Attendees will be provided with magnifying glasses to examine the artworks, along with a brochure printed in an extremely small format. Museum director Sietske van Zanten emphasizes that the diminutive scale encourages deeper observation, unveiling intricate details. Van der Hulst-Sijsenaar, born in 1982, dedicated 18 months to this project, which she describes as her greatest challenge, offering a clever take on the museum's collection.
