Mimmo Paladino Designs 2026 Palio della Rivincita Drappo for Foligno's Quintana
Mimmo Paladino has designed the drappo for the Palio della Rivincita, part of Foligno's Giostra della Quintana, set to be revealed on 12–13 September 2026. His artwork, which showcases a horse’s head, olive branches, and vibrant ribbons against a white backdrop, represents peace. Born in Paduli in 1948, Paladino previously contributed to Foligno in 2009 and created the Palio di Feltre last year. The 2026 Quintana will also feature earlier drappi by Luigi Frappi and Sissi. Coordinated by Marta Silvi and Pier Luigi Metelli, this initiative began in 2014. This edition commemorates 80 years of the modern Giostra and the 800th anniversary of St. Francis's death. A publication will chronicle the history of the palii, and the Quintana is now recognized as intangible cultural heritage of Umbria.
