Millon Auction Group Acquires Pierre Bergé & Associés to Revive Prestige Auction House

On April 13, 2026, Millon Auction Group became the sole shareholder of Pierre Bergé & Associés (PBA), an auction house founded in 2002 by businessman Pierre Bergé (1930-2017). The acquisition aims to restore PBA's position in the high-end collection market. Millon's president Alexandre Millon stated the strategy involves providing financial, logistical, and commercial resources to relaunch the brand with Parisian, European, and international ambitions. PBA will maintain its address at 41 avenue Kléber in Paris and retain its existing operational team. The revival is led by Marc Chochon as managing director, supported by auctioneer Jean-Daniel Toledano and Prince Charles-Henri de Lobkowicz to expand collector networks. PBA had faced challenges in recent years, including being placed in receivership in 2023 after being charged in March 2022 for organized fraud, money laundering, and forgery in an antiquities trafficking case involving its archaeology expert Christophe Kunicki. The house was previously acquired by auction house Alexandre Landre just two years ago. Symbolically, the move reverses a 25-year-old dynamic when Pierre Bergé used Millon's acquisition as leverage for his strategy at Drouot; now Millon intends to bring PBA back to Drouot. PBA had established itself in bibliophilia and major dispersals, including parts of the Yves Saint Laurent-Pierre Bergé collection and Dominique de Villepin's library. Former director Arnaud Montebourg left in June 2024.
