Mililab's Ishi Stool Emerges from Table Leg Design, Doubling as Side Table

Mililab, a Japanese design studio known for its architectural and furniture creations, has launched the Ishi stool, crafted from solid American oak and finished with a charcoal stain. The idea for this stool came about during the development of the Maru dining table, where founders Livert Lim and Mengfei Wu found inspiration in the elegantly curved legs. Collaborating with Djordje Cebic, they designed the stool to resemble a smooth river stone. It features a reversible cushion, allowing it to double as a side table with a flat surface. Standing at 430 millimeters tall, it fits perfectly with dining tables, hotel lobby seating, or vanity desks. The Ishi stool is available in various materials and is featured in the Dezeen Showroom.
