Milan's Design Week Dining: 11 Restaurants Merging Architecture, Art, and Cuisine
The dining landscape in Milan during Salone del Mobile presents elegant options for design enthusiasts. Beefbar Milano, crafted by Humbert & Poyet’s Emil Humbert and Christophe Poyet, is located in a repurposed chapel showcasing Milanese aesthetics from the 1940s to the 1960s, complete with Vico Magistretti chairs and Ignazio Gardella sconces. In Brera, Trattoria del Ciumbia, designed by Dimorestudio, features striking red walls and Carimate chairs by Magistretti. The Palazzo Fendi hosts Langosteria Montenapoleone, revitalized by the Fendi Architecture Department, including a Private Room designed by Giuseppe Porcelli. Established in 1696, Boeucc Restaurant exhibits modern art, while Il Salumaio di Montenapoleone has a Renaissance-tiled courtyard. Giacomo Bistrot, by Roberto Peregalli and Laura Sartori Rimini, channels 19th-century literary salons. LuBar, by Lucilla, Lucrezia, and Ludovico Bonaccorsi, showcases Baroque design and a bar imported from Berlin. Palazzo Parigi contrasts neoclassical style with modern glass tunnels. Michelin-starred chef Niko Romito leads Il Ristorante Niko Romito at the Bulgari Hotel. Ristorante Torre, designed by Rem Koolhaas alongside Chris van Duijn and Federico Pompignoli from OMA, is situated in Fondazione Prada, featuring Eero Saarinen chairs and works by Carsten Höller, Jeff Koons, Goshka Macuga, and John Wesley. Ristorante Cracco, located in Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II, is the creation of chef Carlo Cracco and Studio Peregalli.
