Migliore+Servetto and Busan Present Interactive Installation at University of Milan

The design studio Migliore+Servetto collaborated with the City of Busan to create an interactive installation titled 'Busan Echoes' at the University of Milan's Courtyard of Honor. The installation features a central area with metal elements that produce sounds when touched or approached by visitors, alongside 18 semi-transparent veils decorated with Hangul alphabet characters that filter natural light to create layered visual effects. These veils represent core values of Busan and serve as symbolic banners. The work incorporates a wooden platform with integrated seating and includes video displays showing scenes from Busan. Materials were selected to reference Busan's industrial history, with metal components serving both aesthetic and acoustic purposes. The project aligns with Busan's designation as World Design Capital for 2028, emphasizing design as a means of connection and interaction. The installation transforms the courtyard into a communal gathering space through its combination of visual, auditory, and tactile elements.
