Mickey Mantle card and royal fusiliers lead Morphy's $1.8M toys auction

Morphy Auctions hosted a successful Toys & General Collectibles auction from June 2-3, 2024, bringing in over $1.8 million from 1,362 items. The standout pieces included a 1952 Topps Mickey Mantle rookie card and a boxed set of W. Britains royal fusilier soldiers from around 1893, both selling for $51,660. The Mantle card, which was recently found in a collection built over five decades, was ungraded but boasted excellent color and centering. Dan Morphy, the owner, noted the remarkable success of various categories, including soldiers, marbles, and lunchboxes, and praised the bidders’ excitement for rare collectibles.
