Mickalene Thomas Launches Two Limited Edition Collage Prints with Phaidon Artspace
Phaidon Artspace has unveiled two limited edition pieces by Mickalene Thomas: Jet Blue #11 and Left Behind, both created in 2021. Each edition comprises ten signed and numbered collage prints, featuring hand-cut inkjet prints, silk pieces, and acrylic pochoir. These artworks are showcased in UV-protective frames, accompanied by a signed monograph housed in a handmade box, all delivered in a red velour dust bag. Mickalene Thomas, born on January 28, 1971, in Camden, New Jersey, was raised by her mother, Sandra Bush, and participated in arts programs at Newark Museum and Henry Street Settlement. Her works are part of collections at the Whitney Museum, SFMOMA, Guggenheim, and MoMA. She transitioned from pre-law to art following a Carrie Mae Weems exhibition in 1994.
