Metropolitan Museum Announces Major Dual Exhibition of Lee Krasner and Jackson Pollock

The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York has revealed plans for a significant two-artist exhibition featuring Abstract Expressionists Lee Krasner and Jackson Pollock. Titled 'Krasner and Pollock: Past Continuous,' the presentation will run from October 4, 2026, through January 31, 2027. This comprehensive survey will include over 120 artworks comprising paintings, works on paper, and ephemera drawn from more than 80 different collections. The exhibition aims to examine the full artistic trajectories of both figures, who were contemporaries and married partners, highlighting the connections and divergences in their creative approaches. According to museum director Max Hollein, the show will assess each artist individually while also exploring their influential personal and professional relationship, thereby positioning their output within a wider cultural framework. This marks the first major New York museum exhibition dedicated to either Krasner or Pollock in more than twenty years.
