Metallica donates £20,000 to Cardiff Foodbank after stadium gig

Metallica donated £20,000 to Cardiff Foodbank through their All Within My Hands foundation, funding 9,000 meals. The donation followed their sell-out concert at Principality Stadium on Sunday. The foodbank had recently appealed for help, reporting empty shelves and a 27% drop in food donations. CEO Rachel Biggs called it the largest celebrity donation the charity has ever received. The foundation, launched in 2017, allocates a portion of ticket sales to local and national charities. Metallica also partnered with the Welsh Blood Service to encourage blood and plasma donations before the concert, with sessions running until July 3. Taylor Swift had previously donated to the same foodbank in 2024 during her Eras Tour.
