Memphis Art Museum Sets Opening Date for Herzog & de Meuron Building

On December 6, the Memphis Art Museum, which was previously known as the Memphis Brooks Museum of Art, will welcome visitors to its newly designed campus spanning 123,500 square feet, created by Herzog & de Meuron. As Tennessee's oldest and largest art institution, the museum enhances its gallery area by 50% and features a 50,000-square-foot rooftop art garden, an outdoor amphitheater offering river vistas, and six times the amount of free public space. The building is thoughtfully arranged around a rebuilt bluff along the Mississippi River.
