Meike Teases AF 85mm f/1.2 Portrait Prime for Mirrorless Cameras

Meike has announced development of an autofocus 85mm f/1.2 portrait prime lens for full-frame mirrorless cameras with E, L, and Z mounts. The lens is still in early design stages, with the company deciding between a plastic barrel (750-780g) or a metal barrel (870-900g). Optical design is complete. The lens will weigh under 900g, lighter than Canon's RF 85mm f/1.2 L USM (3,099 USD) and Nikon's Nikkor Z 85mm f/1.2 S (2,897 USD, 1,160g). On E and L mounts, it will compete with Sigma's 85mm f/1.2 DG Art lens, still in development and expected in September. Meike has not yet released pricing but is known for aggressive pricing. The announcement was made on Chinese social media and spotted by L-Rumors.
