MECA&D Announces 2026 MFA Visiting Artist Summer Lecture Series
Maine College of Art & Design (MECA&D) has announced the lineup for its 2026 Summer Visiting Artist Lecture Series, running from June 24 to August 5. The series is part of the eight-week summer intensive for the Master of Fine Arts in Studio Art program, where graduate candidates gather in Portland, Maine, to form a cohort and engage in interdisciplinary dialogue. Visiting artists will deliver lectures and conduct studio visits each week, providing professional development. Participants include Nyugen E. Smith, Garrick Imatani (in collaboration with the Institute of Contemporary Art at MECA&D), Colin Self, Jeffry Mitchell, Jess Perlitz (also with the ICA at MECA&D), Allison Schulnik, Taraneh Fazeli, Gail Spaien, Cristóbal Martínez, and Liz Collins. The 2025 series featured Pap Souleye Fall, Faythe Levine, Yoko Inoue, and others.
