Masterpieces Wachau returns in 2026 with art in hotels and restaurants

Following a successful launch last year, "Masterpieces Wachau" will make its return in 2026, driven by a straightforward yet powerful concept: to integrate museum-quality art into communal spaces where people gather, eat, travel, and relax. This initiative, coordinated by Kunstmeile Krems in partnership with Donau Niederösterreich Tourismus, features selected pieces from the Artothek Niederösterreich displayed in various hospitality settings across the Wachau region. Instead of confining art to museums, this project introduces paintings and prints into dining areas, lobbies, and popular local spots. This approach fosters an informal and often surprising interaction between art and daily life, allowing guests to encounter original works while enjoying breakfast, dining, or conversing after exploring the vineyards.
