The 1984 Italian comedy film 'Non ci resta che piangere', directed by and starring Massimo Troisi and Roberto Benigni, was re-released in theaters two years ago in a restored version by Lucky Red, thirty years after its original debut. The film, which became the highest-grossing Italian film of the 1984-1985 season, follows two friends, Mario (Troisi) and Saverio (Benigni), who are transported back in time to 1492 after a strange storm. During their journey, they encounter historical figures such as Girolamo Savonarola, Christopher Columbus, and Leonardo da Vinci, attempting to alter history. The film's title is derived from a line in a letter by Francesco Petrarca. Troisi described the film as autobiographical, noting that the idea of traveling to the past resonated with their generation. The restored version was screened for three days in Italian cinemas.
