Argentine guitarist and composer Martín Iaies releases his new album 'PEOPLE. PLACES.' on Challenge Records, documenting his artistic transformation following his relocation from Buenos Aires to Austria in 2019. The album, featuring an 11-piece ensemble, blends contemporary European jazz with Argentine folk elements, showcasing Iaies' evolution from a guitarist who composes to a composer who expresses through the guitar. Recorded with a flexible ensemble that includes special guest Klaus Gesing on soprano saxophone and bass clarinet, the album explores themes of migration, belonging, and the interplay between song and orchestral writing.
