Marlene A. Schenk to Lead Rebecca Horn's Moontower Foundation

Marlene A. Schenk will become director of the Moontower Foundation on June 1, 2026. The foundation, based in Bad König, Hesse, manages the estate of Rebecca Horn (1944–2024) and aims to preserve, research, and make accessible her artistic legacy. Schenk was previously artistic director of the Kunstverein Friedrichshafen, where she developed a curatorial program at the intersection of locality, collectivity, and institutional practice, and oversaw the digital processing and re-contextualization of the archive. She is a co-founder of the independent exhibition space FKA Six in Berlin's Ring Center I. Schenk studied comparative literature, art history, philosophy, and aesthetics in Berlin, Frankfurt, Mainz, and Lisbon, and completed a traineeship at the Haus der Kulturen der Welt in Berlin. The foundation's board emphasized that her appointment aims to further institutional development, international collaboration, and visibility of the foundation and Horn's artistic heritage.
