Mark Holborn Edits New Chris Killip Photobook 'North' from Archive
Nearly 40 years after Mark Holborn edited Chris Killip's photobook 'In Flagrante,' he has released a new work titled 'North,' published by Thames & Hudson. Following Killip's passing in 2020, his son Matthew permitted Holborn to explore the archive, unveiling previously unseen photographs. 'North' comprises 224 images, many of which have not been published before, and presents a cohesive narrative instead of a traditional retrospective. The collection includes photographs from Seacoal, Skinningrove, Huddersfield, and the North East, interspersed with early Isle of Man images and later Irish pilgrimages. Priced at £75, the book features only three images from 'In Flagrante' and highlights the enduring nature of the landscape. It is available through Thames & Hudson.
