Marilyn Monroe's Private Portraits at Galerie de l'Instant

Galerie de l'Instant in Paris presents 'Marilyn, portrait d'une enfant radieuse', an exhibition featuring prints by three photographers who captured Marilyn Monroe off-set. Sam Shaw, a close friend and film photographer, followed her between 1954 and 1958 at the Connecticut farm she shared with Arthur Miller, showing her barefoot on the phone, jumping in the grass in Roxbury, dining at a New York diner, and concentrating before a mirror. Lawrence Schiller and Georges Barris documented her later years, including poolside during the interrupted filming of 'Something's Got to Give' and on Malibu beach with wet hair. The exhibition highlights Monroe's dual presence: she never appears unaware of the camera, negotiating each frame as an actress, yet a more raw presence emerges.
