Marijana Schneider to Lead TAXISPALAIS Kunsthalle Tirol from 2027

Marijana Schneider, a German-born curator and art historian, will become the artistic director of TAXISPALAIS Kunsthalle Tirol in Innsbruck, Austria, starting January 4, 2027. She succeeds Nina Tabassomi, who has held the dual role of managing and artistic director since 2017 and will continue until the end of 2026. Schneider brings extensive international exhibition experience and institutional knowledge, and her programming is expected to bridge global contemporary art with the local Tyrolean scene. The appointment was announced by the state of Tyrol, which operates the Kunsthalle as a central venue for contemporary art with a decades-long tradition and international recognition.
