Jennifer Liewer, the deputy elections director for Maricopa County, clarified that the video originated from a nonpublic backup camera. The Board of Supervisors explained that the staff was engaged in authorized software updates. Shelby Busch, founder of We the People, reached out to Maricopa County recorder Justin Heap, who then referred the issue to the FBI; however, investigators found no grounds for further inquiry. President Trump also criticized Maricopa County after 3,000 ballots were mistakenly mailed early, with no evidence of widespread voter fraud identified.
