Marco Nereo Rotelli's Infinity Installation Explores Human-Centered AI Through Art

exhibition · 2026-03-30

Artist Marco Nereo Rotelli has unveiled Infinity – Design of the Mind, an interactive installation that examines artificial intelligence's relationship with human consciousness. The project, developed in collaboration with Domyn, a company specializing in Responsible AI solutions for regulated sectors, is situated in the Cortile della Farmacia. Rotelli describes the work as aiming to facilitate and reveal human expressions and emotions within a built environment that extends the human mind. The installation transforms visitors into active participants, creating what the artist calls a consubstantial experience of personal compositional luminescence. Rotelli references philosopher Ludwig Wittgenstein's ideas about language limits, urging viewers to move beyond predictable boundaries while protecting human emotions from data overload. The project represents a collective composition of knowledge involving multiple collaborators: Nobel Prize-winning scientist Riccardo Valentini and physicist Valerio Coppola developed Light Talking; poet Valerio Magrelli contributed words transcribed by Rotelli onto seven mirrored steel books; composer Alessio Bertallot created the sound work Codice d'Acqua; and digital creative Luca Andrea Marazzini contributed to the digital aspects. The work positions itself as human-led artificial intelligence—a serious game that extends human cognitive capabilities while maintaining emotional and experiential authenticity.
