Marc Fornes Unveils 'L'Ile Folie' Pavilion in North Carolina Park

Marc Fornes, through his studio THEVERYMANY, has installed a new sculptural pavilion titled 'L'Ile Folie' in Cary Park, Cary, North Carolina. The work reinterprets the historical architectural folly tradition with a contemporary approach, featuring a structure composed of thousands of digitally fabricated aluminum panels that serve as both skin and support. Positioned along a boardwalk overlooking a pond, the white geometric canopy creates shifting light patterns through perforations, inviting visitors to engage with the natural setting. Fornes is recognized for creating technologically advanced works that merge architectural and sculptural practices.
