Malta Debuts at Gwangju Biennale with BEJN / IN-BETWEEN Pavilion

exhibition · 2026-09-06

Arts Council Malta is excited to debut its inaugural pavilion, BEJN / IN-BETWEEN, at the Gwangju Biennale. This exhibition features the creative contributions of artists Norbert Francis Attard, PONKS (Sam Alekksandra and Julien Vinet), and Michael Quinton, collectively known as the BEJN Kollettiva. Developed over a three-month residency in Gwangju, the installation merges various artistic expressions, including video, sound, poetry, and performance art, all hosted at Horanggasy. The theme 'BEJN,' meaning 'between' in Maltese, symbolizes the exploration of transitional spaces, fostering dialogue and cultural exchange on the international art stage.
