MAK Vienna reimagines textile collection with Formafantasma's new installation

The MAK in Vienna has launched a redesigned presentation of its permanent textile and carpet collection, curated in collaboration with the Milan-based design studio Formafantasma. This update broadens the focus beyond carpets to include textiles, showcasing pieces from Europe and East Asia spanning from late antiquity to modern times. The collection features notable items such as Mamluk and Safavid carpets from the 16th and 17th centuries. The new display aims to provide visitors with a comprehensive view of the collection's diversity and historical significance.
