Major Urban Art Exhibition 'Beyond the Streets' Opens at La Villette in Paris Featuring Graffiti Legends
A significant urban art exhibition titled 'Beyond the Streets' will be presented at the Grande Halle de la Villette in Paris from May 26 to September 1, 2026. The exhibition, originally launched in Los Angeles in 2018 and previously shown in New York, Shanghai, and London, has already attracted over 650,000 visitors globally. Organized by graffiti historian Roger Gastman, who also produced Banksy's documentary 'Exit Through the Gift Shop,' the showcase features works by pioneering graffiti and street artists. Notable participants include New York abstract lettering pioneer Futura 2000, hip-hop and graffiti icon Fab Five Freddy, and Shepard Fairey (known as Obey). Other featured artists are Invader with pixelated creations, André Saraiva (creator of Mr. A), versatile tattoo artist and graffiti writer Fuzi, Argentine urban Op Art specialist Felipe Pantone, New York graffiti trailblazer Lady Pink, and Portuguese artist Vhils, who carves portraits directly into walls. The exhibition will occupy 3,600 square meters and include monumental sculptures, architectural interventions, archival photographs and videos, and large-scale murals. A special boutique curated by Sarah Andelman, co-founder of the Parisian concept store Colette, will offer limited editions, lithographs, and exclusive artist collaborations. Ticket sales opened on April 1, 2026. The event is positioned as a major cultural offering in northern Paris, distinct from its previous international venues.
