Magno Studio Designs Custom Perfume Bottles for Starrytale's Wonder Aroma Odyssey

Alejandro Gavancho, designer and art director at Magno Studio in Leeds, United Kingdom, led the packaging design for Starrytale's expansion into fine fragrances with Wonder Aroma Odyssey. The project involved creating seven distinct scents with a layered unboxing experience: a bold outer sleeve revealing a minimalist box, then a custom glass bottle. The bespoke bottle was redesigned after initial prototypes proved too fragile during technical testing. The final design features a small, delicate bottle within a larger structured frame, with black labels and caps. Manufacturing required coordination among three specialized producers—one for the glass silhouette, another for the spherical cap, and a third for the metal neck chain—all managed remotely between Leeds and Hong Kong. Gavancho emphasized the importance of early technical assessments to avoid delays, contrasting AI-generated hyperrealistic concepts with the need for structural realism.
