Madrid's Masaveu Foundation Unveils Textile Art from 15th Century to Present

From October 7, 2026, to July 18, 2027, the Fundación María Cristina Masaveu Peterson in Madrid will showcase 'Colecciones Masaveu. Arte textil.' Curated by Antonio Sama and Patricia Molins, this exhibition will display over eighty textile artworks ranging from the 15th century to the present, sourced from the Masaveu collections. The exhibition is organized into two parts: one featuring historical textiles such as carpets, tapestries, and embroideries, and the other highlighting contemporary pieces by notable artists including Anni Albers, Sonia Delaunay, and Joan Miró. The display will also include original artist installations and traditional uses like hanging tapestries, encouraging interaction between different styles and periods. Admission is free at Centro FMCMP, located at Calle Alcalá Galiano 6. Founded in 2006 by María Cristina Masaveu, the foundation upholds a family legacy of nearly a century in collecting and two centuries in textile art, with cultural centers in Madrid and Morasverdes (Salamanca).
