Madagascar's President Mandates Polygraph Screening for Ministerial Candidates

Madagascar's President Michael Randrianirina announced on Thursday that individuals seeking ministerial positions in the new government will undergo lie detector tests to identify corrupt applicants. The military leader, who assumed power in an October coup on the Indian Ocean island, stated that the country has obtained a polygraph device and a trained operator to conduct the screenings. Randrianirina emphasized the goal of discerning who is corrupt and who can assist in governance, aiming to root out corruption in the administration.
