MAD Architects Completes Lishui Airport Terminal in Zhejiang Province
Chinese architecture firm MAD has finished construction on Lishui Airport's terminal building in Zhejiang, China. The facility, now operational, is situated 15 kilometers southwest of Lishui within a mountainous area. Designed with a compact layout spanning 12,000 square meters, the terminal features a sculptural roof clad in silver-white aluminum panels, inspired by misty landscapes and birds in flight. The interior incorporates warm-toned wood to create an airy atmosphere. The project, which began design in 2008, includes eight aircraft parking bays and is expected to handle up to one million domestic travelers annually, with future expansions planned to increase capacity.
