exhibition · 2026-04-14

To honor the centenary of textile artist Aurèlia Muñoz Ventura (1926–2011), the Museu d'Art Contemporani de Barcelona (MACBA) is initiating a special program. A retrospective exhibition titled 'Aurèlia Muñoz. Ente' is scheduled to take place from November 2026 to March 2027 at both MACBA and the Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofía (MNCARS) in Madrid. The Generalitat de Catalunya has officially recognized this event, with activities planned throughout Catalonia. Since April 13, 2026, MACBA has been showcasing three reconstructed pieces from Muñoz's 'Ocells-estels' series. The program will also feature an international symposium in November 2026 and a scholarly publication in collaboration with MNCARS, curated by einaidea and directed by Manuel Cirauqui, highlighting previously unseen works from her collection.
