MAC launches 'Morfologías Sensibles' book on curatorial research

On May 30, 2025, at noon, the Universidad de Chile's Museo de Arte Contemporáneo (MAC) unveiled the book 'Morfologías Sensibles' in Sala Guillermo Núñez at MAC Parque Forestal. Edited by Paulina González, this publication encapsulates a curatorial and research initiative of the same name, which took place from 2023 to 2025. It includes exhibitions such as 'Colección MAC. Morfologías sensibles' (2023), 'Colección MAC. Memoria habitada' (2025), '1970/2025. Abstractos, geométricos, cinéticos' (2025), and the educational project 'Museo en estéreo' (2024). The initiative examined the influence of historical, political, and cultural events on the museum's evolution, particularly the 50th anniversaries of the 1973 coup and MAC's establishment in the Palacio de Bellas Artes in 1974. Contributions from theorists and academics like Alejandra Araya Espinoza and Katherine Ávalos Parra are included. Director Daniel Cruz opened the event, emphasizing the book's exploration of museum space, while Ana Harcha praised it as 'beautiful,' expressing her desire for it to be found in every household.
