M9 Design Studio Transforms Industrial Bangalore Structure into Sunrise Garden Restaurant Oasis

M9 Design Studio has converted a functional structure in an industrial Bangalore neighborhood into the Sunrise Garden restaurant, creating a multi-layered spatial experience. The 830 m² project, completed in 2025, serves as an urban oasis contrasting with its austere surroundings. Architects Nischal Abhaykumar and Jesal Pathak led the design, which explores how architecture can introduce softness, vegetation, and sensory tranquility. The concept centers on the garden as a place for rest, gathering, and imagination. Photography was handled by Ekansh Goel, while the project utilized materials from Ikea, Jindal Steel, Pasolite, and Ultratech Cement. Curated by Miwa Negoro, the restaurant transforms its industrial context into a haven of calm.
